My fiance has had to sleep on the sofa a couple of nights because my snoring has gotten so bad in the last week. I’m 39 weeks as of Friday. He says that he tries to nudge me, but it just keeps going. I have even woken myself up a couple of times. I usually don’t snore. He said that even though he grew up with three brothers and lived with male roommates in college, he has never heard snoring like this – it is rather embarrassing. Has anyone else experienced this?
It happened to me.. as baby grew and got heavy I started snoring so bad.. my Hubby started sleeping in guest bed room..
It is quite normal.. tell him it is one side effect of pregnancy.. Lol..
Well, i seem to notice that men snore more than women or at least louder at least. Also i know like snoring has to do with sinus problems or something, but how come when we’re young we don’t snore as bad as when we get older?
Twenty percent of all adults are chronic snorers, and 45% of normal adults snore occasionally. As people grow older, their chance of snoring increases. Approximately half of all individuals over 60 snore regularly.

My dad is diabetic, has high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, and has been hospitalized for two strokes. Lately, when I got to visit him, he breaths heavily- while awake- and then produces a loud snoring sound that cause some of his body to tremble as well. It sounds just like a snore but he is not asleep.
Hey may be a shallow breather. I do this too sometimes because in the past I used to breath shallow and am still paying for it. Occasionally, I will suddenly take a deep breath with a snore coming as an effect of my deep breath.
Maybe he is catching his breath?
I use ear plugs at night when I sleep, and because of this I’ve heard myself snore. And I have nasal congestion, so I wonder if there’s connection between snoring and nasal congestion. Your help is appreciated.
Yes, and keeping the nasal passages and sinuses clear helps reduce snoring. A big secret is that neck position has a big connection also. Keeping the neck in it’s normal alignment not only helps keep the sinuses and nasal passaga ways in the normal open position but putting the neck in it’s normal position helps keep away nerve pressure. Nerves that communicate to your sinuses and nasal passage ways.
Without going into too much detail, use this neck pillow when you sleep. You’ll have a pleasant surprise when you stop snoring: http://www.arc4life.com/site/615058/product/CLTractionPillow
